Green ChemisTree Foundation (GCF)

Green ChemisTree Foundation (GCF), is a registered not-for-profit organisation (Section 8 company), with a vision for Chemical Industry to be Safe, Environment friendly and Sustainable by implementing Green & Sustainable Chemistry based tools and technologies.

GCF engages with all stakeholders of chemical industry, including industry, industrial associations, academia, research institutes, teachers, students, government & regulatory bodies, media, etc through diverse initiatives with the objective to accelerate the implementation of Green Chemistry & Green Engineering based technologies across the value chain of the chemical industry.

Industrial Green Chemistry World (IGCW) Convention & Ecosystem, is GCF’s flagship initiative, held biennially since 2009. IGCW is globally recognised as Asia’s largest industrial convention on “Green & Sustainable Chemistry”.

The Industrial Green Chemistry World (IGCW) Awards are India’s first and only dedicated accolade that scientifically consolidates and recognizes Green & Sustainable Chemistry innovations across India. Inventions and Innovations that have created a substantial impact on the level of safety and environmental footprint of chemical products or processes are acknowledged through IGCW Awards.

IGCW Awards acknowledges the commitment demonstrated by individuals & organisations to develop and commercialise Green & Sustainable Chemistry based innovations that make a positive difference to the quality of human health and the environment. IGCW Awards is an appreciation of your technical expertise, thinking out of the box, and courage to deal with all the hurdles that came on the way for the successful implementation of the idea.

Since its launch in 2009, the IGCW AWARDS has received applications from over 200+ Industry and Academia practitioners, determinedly integrating Green Chemistry / Green Engineering principles into chemistry routes, chemical designs, manufacturing practices, etc. The IGCW Awards are felicitated biennially in Mumbai, India.

6th Nov. 2023: Winners Announcement

Winners (in each category) will be announced & felicitated on 6th Nov. 2023, during the Inauguration of 7th Industrial Green Chemistry World (IGCW-2023) Convention

Eligibility Criteria



For Industry

  • Company is registered and based in India

  • Innovation is developed at their R&D Centre in India

  • Innovation is commercialised at a plant in India

  • Company is applying in appropriate category based on their turnover

  • Innovation is developed and commercialised within last 3 years (after 1st April’2020)

For Start-ups

  • Company is registered & based in India

  • Innovation is developed and commercialised within last 3 years (after 1st April’2020)

  • Innovation is commercialised in India

For Knowledge Community

  • Technology Developer/Solution Provider company is registered and based in India.

  • Academic or Research Institute is registered and based in India

  • Student is working in academic or research institute registered and based in India

  • Innovation is developed and commercialised within last 3 years (after 1st April’2020)

Prizes

The Winners from the Academia and Students Category will be felicitated with a reward of INR 1,00,000 and INR 50,000 respectively as a token of encouragement to further their research project
